GCPTALKS Freelancer Photographer

GCPTALKS.org – Freelance Photographer Recruitment Message

By Founder & President, Garth B. Thompson

Garth B. Thompson has a dream—a vision where freelance photographers across New York, Texas, and beyond come together in unity to support the charitable mission of GCPTALKS.org. This mission invites photographers to work with amateur and semi‑professional models who have the talent, patience, and passion to grow within a nonprofit creative environment.

This is where the work becomes charitably entertaining. Not only do photographers get to collaborate with talented artists—models, singers, actors, dancers, musicians, poets, writers, authors, and songwriters—but they also become part of a movement that benefits the following:

  • The nonprofit organization

  • Donors

  • Sponsors

  • Investors

  • Community members

  • And the artists themselves

Through charitable shows, fashion events, creative showcases, and premier concerts, photographers will capture the moments that define our mission. Every snapshot becomes a story—one that uplifts communities, supports the underprivileged, and advances the charitable vision of GCPTALKS.org and GarthCharityProjects.org.

Photographers, your work is essential. Your lens becomes the bridge between talent and community impact. Your images help tell the story of what is happening now—and what is yet to come.

Join us. Become a GCPTALKS.org Freelance Photographer and help create the next generation of talented artists who will inspire change through creativity and compassion.

Can Freelance Photographers Receive Pay or a Tax Write-Off?

Here is the clear, correct explanation:

1. Yes—Photographers can be paid.

GCPTALKS.org and GarthCharityProjects.org may compensate photographers for their work, depending on the project and budget.

2. Yes — Photographers can receive a charitable tax write‑off.

If a photographer chooses to donate their services, the value of their donated time cannot be written off (IRS rule), but the following can be tax‑deductible:

  • Donated prints

  • Donated digital images

  • Donated equipment

  • Donated travel expenses

  • Donated materials

  • Donated studio time

  • Donated props or supplies

Additionally, if a photographer waives their fee, they may deduct:

  • Mileage

  • Travel costs

  • Supplies used for the shoot

  • Any out‑of‑pocket expenses related to the charitable work

Important IRS Note

The IRS does not allow deductions for the value of your time or labor. But all expenses related to the charitable work ARE deductible.

3. GCPTALKS and GarthCharityProjects can issue donation receipts.

As long as the donation is documented, the nonprofit can provide:

  • A charitable donation acknowledgment letter

  • A receipt for donated goods or expenses

This helps photographers claim their deductions properly.
