Article I. Purpose
The purpose of this Donor Bill of Rights is to establish the standards, protections, and assurances afforded to all individuals and entities (“Donors”) who contribute financial or in‑kind support to GCPTALKS, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. These rights are intended to ensure transparency, accountability, and ethical stewardship in all donor interactions.
Article II. Donor Rights
Section 1. Right to Respect and Dignity
1.1. All Donors shall be treated with respect, professionalism, and dignity at all times. 1.2. GCPTALKS shall not engage in conduct that diminishes, exploits, or misrepresents any Donor.
Section 2. Right to Information and Transparency
2.1. Donors have the right to receive accurate and timely information regarding the mission, programs, financial practices, and organizational priorities of GCPTALKS. 2.2. Donors may request and shall be provided access to annual reports, financial statements, and program impact summaries. 2.3. GCPTALKS shall disclose any material changes to its mission or operations that may affect donor intent.
Section 3. Right to Responsible Stewardship
3.1. Donors have the right to expect that their contributions will be used in a manner consistent with the stated mission and charitable purposes of GCPTALKS. 3.2. GCPTALKS retains discretion to allocate funds where most needed unless a restricted gift agreement is executed in writing. 3.3. All contributions shall be managed in accordance with applicable federal and state nonprofit regulations.
Section 4. Right to Privacy and Data Protection
4.1. Donors have the right to have their personal information kept confidential to the fullest extent permitted by law. 4.2. GCPTALKS shall not sell, rent, or exchange donor information with third parties. 4.3. Donors may request anonymity, which GCPTALKS shall honor in all public communications and recognition materials. 4.4. Donors may request removal from mailing lists or communication channels at any time.
Section 5. Right to Accurate Acknowledgment
5.1. Donors shall receive timely and accurate receipts for all contributions, including tax‑deductible documentation as required by the Internal Revenue Code. 5.2. GCPTALKS shall maintain accurate records of donor contributions and provide documentation upon request.
Section 6. Right to Recognition or Anonymity
6.1. Donors have the right to determine how, when, and if they are publicly recognized. 6.2. Recognition opportunities for major donors, including facility‑based acknowledgments, shall be offered in writing and accepted only with donor consent. 6.3. Donors may revoke recognition preferences at any time.
Section 7. Right to Inquiry and Response
7.1. Donors have the right to ask questions and receive prompt, truthful, and comprehensive responses regarding:
Organizational governance
Financial practices
Program outcomes
Use of contributions 7.2. GCPTALKS shall maintain accessible communication channels for donor inquiries.
Section 8. Right to Ethical Conduct
8.1. Donors have the right to expect that GCPTALKS leadership, staff, and volunteers will adhere to the highest standards of ethical behavior. 8.2. GCPTALKS shall not accept contributions that compromise its integrity, mission, or legal obligations.
Section 9. Right to Discontinue Participation
9.1. Donors may discontinue recurring contributions, membership payments, or communication preferences at any time. 9.2. GCPTALKS shall process such requests promptly and without penalty.
Section 10. Right to Understand Impact
10.1. Donors have the right to receive information demonstrating the impact of their contributions on GCPTALKS programs, services, and community initiatives. 10.2. GCPTALKS shall provide periodic updates, reports, or summaries reflecting organizational progress and outcomes.
Article III. Enforcement and Governance
11.1. This Donor Bill of Rights shall be adopted by the Board of Directors of GCPTALKS, Inc. and incorporated into the organization’s governance framework. 11.2. GCPTALKS leadership shall ensure compliance with these rights in all donor‑related activities. 11.3. Violations of these rights may be reported to the Board of Directors for review and corrective action.
Article IV. Amendments
12.1. GCPTALKS reserves the right to amend this Donor Bill of Rights to comply with legal requirements, regulatory changes, or organizational needs. 12.2. Amendments shall be approved by the Board of Directors and published on GCPTALKS.org.

This Donor Bill of Rights is hereby affirmed as an official policy of GCPTALKS, Inc.
