Volunteer Fundraising Director Opportunity with GCPTALKS, Inc.

GCPTALKS, Inc.—a New York–based nonprofit media organization founded by Garth B. Thompson—is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Fundraising Director to join our mission-driven team. This role is ideal for someone who believes in community upliftment, humanitarian service, and the power of media to inspire change.


We are building a strong foundation for our GCPTALKS Building Fund, expanding our arts & culture programs, and strengthening our operational capacity. To achieve these goals within the next six months, we need a committed partner who can grow with us.


Role Overview

This is a volunteer position to start, with the potential to grow into a full-time, fully benefited role as the organization expands.

Your primary responsibility will be to help create fundraising momentum through media-driven outreach.


This includes:


  • Producing short videos and presenting them on social media and our website

  • Helping galvanize donors to support the GCPTALKS Building Fund and general operations

  • Participating in daily or regular meetups (NY-based candidates) to strategize and execute fundraising goals

  • Collaborating directly with Founder & President Garth B. Thompson to shape fundraising direction and outreach

You will receive:

  • Direct mentorship and hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising and media outreach

  • A future benefits package as the role transitions into a paid position


Qualifications

We are looking for someone who embodies both skill and heart:

  1. Some experience with money, fundraising, or donor engagement

  2. Basic understanding of nonprofits or willingness to learn

  3. Resident of New York City or the five boroughs

    • Texas residents may also apply for a general fundraising director role

  4. Serious, business-minded, and committed to the mission

  5. Honest, compassionate, and driven by service to humanity, community, and God

  6. Available for 4 volunteer hours per week, with the potential to grow to 8 hours
