FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
GCPTALKS, Inc. Announces Lifesaving Ambulance Initiative to Serve Maroon Town, Woodland, and Surrounding Communities in St. James, Jamaica, West Indies.
Brooklyn, New York — [5/9/2026 Date] — GCPTALKS, Inc., a United States–based 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 83‑3626977), today announced the launch of its Ambulance Program Services Initiative, a humanitarian effort designed to bring emergency medical transportation to underserved communities in Maroon Town, Woodland, and the wider St. James region of Jamaica, West Indies.
For decades, residents of these districts have lived without access to a dedicated ambulance—forcing pregnant mothers, elders, children, and critically ill patients to travel long, dangerous distances over hilly terrain to reach Cornwall Regional Hospital in Montego Bay. The Maroon Town Health Center, while essential, is not equipped to provide full emergency care.
GCPTALKS.org is stepping forward to change that.
“Communities in St. James are suffering without emergency transportation. Lives are at risk every day,” said Garth B. Thompson, Founder and President of GCPTALKS, Inc. “This ambulance initiative is not just a program—it is a promise to save lives, uplift communities, and bring hope where it has been missing for far too long.”
A Lifesaving Mission for the Caribbean
The ambulance will serve a wide network of communities, including Maroon Town, Woodland, Dundee, Summer Hill, Maldon, Amity Hall, Bickersteth, Chatham, Dumfries, Elysium, Fairfield, Garlands, Goodwill, Hampden, Jericho, Lottery, Mocho, Niagara, Roehampton, Glasgow, Johns Hall, Lethe, Mount Carey, Mount Horeb, Somerton, Spring Mount, and additional surrounding areas.
These communities fall within the governance constituencies of St. James Central, St. James Southern, and St. James West.
The ambulance will prioritize the following:
Pregnant mothers
Elderly residents
Children and youth
Critically ill patients
Emergency medical cases only
The service will not operate as a passenger vehicle and will follow strict safety and registration protocols.
Program Oversight and Management
The initiative will be jointly managed by:
The Outreach Director
The Secretary of Society
The Executive Office Ambassador
These officers will oversee operations, community coordination, safety compliance, and reporting directly to the founder & president.
This program is part of GCPTALKS’ broader commitment to serving Caribbean communities through humanitarian outreach, emergency support, and charitable development.
